Fleshy
I don’t know what gave this mushroom such an irregular shape, almost like a human ear. It’s pocked and freckled and fleshy.

As if caught in a split second explosion, bursting through the dead wood, ballooning into the vacuum of space.

Like an egg nestled in its nest, this fungus has a comfy spot on a moss-covered stump.

My mother-in-law noticed these in her back forest. Having a back forest is so much better than a back yard.

These dainty, purplish mushrooms with the variegated caps don’t stand out like the orange one close by, so I nearly missed them.
