Blog of the Week: A Brief Message
I spend entirely too much time reading blogs. It keeps me up late at night. It isn’t healthy, but they are so interesting—they make me think, and I learn a lot.
A Brief Message keeps posts to no more than 200 words. They are short essays on current issues in design written by many leading designers. In the very first post, Liz Danzico, Editor-in-Chief, described it thusly:
Our mission for A Brief Message is a simple one : we want to give you design criticism in short form. We want you to do without. And we’re betting that brevity paired with smart editorial — and the occasional felicitous illustration — will go a long way.
Unfortunately, the illustrations aren’t included in the RSS feed, so you may want to take the extra time to hit the site. Regardless, it’s a great blog to get you thinking about design issues, and it won’t take much of your time.
