My name is Jack Moffett. I am an Interaction Designer with over ten years of experience. According to Herb Simon, that makes me an expert, so I must have something worth sharing. I have started this venture as an exercise to spur critical thinking about my chosen profession. I hope that others may find it thought provoking as well.

Blast from the Past

Based on an idea published by Robert Scoble, a wiki has been created to collect all of the skills that have become obsolete. Titled “Obsolete Skills”, it already contains a few hundred listed alphabetically. Regardless of your age, it is an interesting trip down the proverbial memory lane. My contribution was technology-centric, but I know there are a lot of design skills that should be added. If you used to cut rubylith, paint with plaka, or use letraset, I encourage you to add it to the collection.
